Jaw/chin
Common question “ will jaw filler make my face look slimmer?” No! This is not liposuction or fat dissolving injections. Jaw filler is not suitable for everyone - for example:
If you have a BMI which is considered ‘high’
Jaw filler is placed along the jaw bone, which is not always visible due to a number of factors - including having a high BMI. This in turn would make it unsuitable as clients expectations could not be met as if filler was added to the area, it would also not be visible. An alternative to jaw filler would be chin filler. By elongating the chin, we can achieve the illusion of a ‘slimmer face’. Usually 1ml is enough to achieve this look.
if you have a BMI which is considered ‘low’.
On the other hand, if you have a BMI which is considered on the low side, adding filler along the jaw line can look masculine and unnatural. However, a beautiful contoured jaw line can be achieved using a small amount of filler and ensuring ‘the triangle of youth’ is always maintained by balancing out cheeks and chin if necessary.
if you have a strong masseter muscle (located at the back of the jaw) - This will create a bulge at the back of your jaw, which unfortunately will be unsuitable to add filler to this area.
Cheeks
Cheekbones are so important when it comes to the perfect ratio of the face. A common misconception is “cheek filler will make me look fat!” I can assure you this is not the case, quite the opposite. By adding the correct amount of filler along the cheekbone we can enhance the definition, which in turn will help create the heart shaped face, incorporating the triangle of youth.
